HYALURON FILLER

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What is the hyaluron pen and how does it work?

The hyaluron pen is a device used in certain cosmetic procedures, particularly for non-surgical lip enhancements and the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by utilizing pressure to administer a specialized hyaluronic acid solution into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to retain moisture and add volume. The pen's mechanism pushes the solution through a very fine needle-less nozzle, creating a high-pressure stream that delivers the hyaluronic acid into the targeted area. This technique is intended to provide a more comfortable experience for the patient compared to traditional injections.

  • What dermal fillers do we use with the Hyaluron Pen?

The dermal fillers used with the hyaluron pen are typically hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to retain moisture and add volume to the skin. These fillers come in various formulations and consistencies, allowing for different levels of volumizing and contouring effects. The specific brand or type of hyaluronic acid filler used can vary depending on the practitioner and the desired outcome. At Plump-Ink Studio we use Neuramis Deep, Elasty Deep, and Revolax Deep.

  • Is it safe? Does the procedure hurt?

When used by trained professionals, the hyaluron pen procedure is generally considered safe. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. These may include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising. At Plump-Ink Studio we have only skilled practitioners who have experience with the hyaluron pen technique to minimize the risk of complications for our clients.

Regarding pain during the procedure, the hyaluron pen is designed to provide a less painful experience compared to traditional injections. The high-pressure stream of hyaluronic acid is meant to penetrate the skin without the use of needles, which can be more comfortable for some individuals. Filler mixed with lidocane may be applied before the procedure to help minimize any potential discomfort.

  • What are the benefits for using the hyaluron pen for fillers?

The use of the hyaluron pen for fillers offers several potential benefits:

    1. Needle-less procedure: The hyaluron pen eliminates the need for traditional injections with needles, which can be appealing to individuals who have a fear of needles. This can make the procedure more comfortable and less intimidating for some clients.

    2. Reduced pain and discomfort: The high-pressure stream of hyaluronic acid delivered by the pen is typically less painful compared to injections using needles. While there may still be some discomfort depending on individual sensitivity, the hyaluron pen is designed to minimize pain during the procedure.

    3. Quick and convenient: The hyaluron pen treatment is often relatively quick, allowing for shorter procedure times compared to traditional injections. This can be beneficial for individuals with busy schedules who want a cosmetic procedure that can be done efficiently.

    4. Natural-looking results: When administered correctly by a skilled practitioner, the hyaluron pen can provide natural-looking results. The technique allows for precise control over the amount and placement of the filler, helping to achieve a subtle enhancement or correction as desired.

    5. Minimal downtime: The hyaluron pen procedure typically requires little to no downtime, allowing individuals to resume their normal activities shortly after the treatment. However, it's essential to follow any post-treatment instructions provided by the practitioner to ensure optimal healing and results..

  • How long do results of Hyaluron Pen fillers last?

The duration of the results achieved with the hyaluron pen can vary depending on several factors, including the specific filler used, individual metabolism, lifestyle habits, and the area treated.

On average, the effects of hyaluronic acid fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. However, this can vary. Some individuals may experience shorter-lasting results, while others may enjoy the benefits for longer periods, up to 18 months in some cases.

It's important to note that hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body over time. To maintain the desired results, follow-up treatments or touch-ups may be necessary. Your practitioner can provide guidance on the recommended treatment frequency to help you maintain the desired outcome.

  • Are there any side effects or risk associated with Hyaluron Pen Fillers?

While the hyaluron pen procedure is generally considered safe, there are potential side effects and risks associated with hyaluronic acid fillers administered through this technique. These can include:

    1. Redness, swelling, and bruising: It is common to experience some degree of redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites. These are usually temporary and should resolve within a few days to a week.

    2. Allergic reactions: Although rare, allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid fillers can occur. It's important to disclose any known allergies or sensitivities to your practitioner before the procedure.

    3. Infection: There is a slight risk of infection, as with any procedure that involves the penetration of the skin. It's crucial to choose a trained professional who follows strict sterile techniques to minimize this risk.

It's essential to have a thorough consultation with your practitioner before the procedure to discuss any pre-existing medical conditions, potential risks, and side effects specific to your situation. By choosing a skilled professional and following their instructions for aftercare, you can help minimize the likelihood of complications.

  • How many sessions are typically needed to achieve desired results?

The number of sessions required to achieve the desired results with the hyaluron pen can vary depending on several factors, including the individual's goals, the specific area being treated, and the initial condition of the skin. In many cases, multiple sessions are encouraged to achieve optimal results or for touch-ups.

During a consultation, we will assess your needs and discuss the treatment plan that best aligns with your goals. Some individuals may require multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart to gradually build up the desired volume or address specific concerns. We will consider factors such as your facial anatomy, skin quality, and the response to the initial treatment when determining the need for further sessions.

  • How should I prepare for a Hyaluron Pen filler treatment?

Prior to 24-hours before your Hyaluron Filler appointment, you refrain from drinking alcohol, smoking, or taking any blood thinners or Ibuprofen. Be sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water at least a week leading up to your appointment and after your appointment. • What is the downtime/recovery period after the procedure?

Bruising and swelling may occur and will only last 3-5 days. Injection sites may develop little bumps which just means the filler has not yet bonded. After 3-5 days of swelling you may continue to massage your lips with A&D ointment if bumps are still noticeable. You may resume make-up after 24-hours. Total healing time is 2 weeks.

When administered by a skilled practitioner, the results of hyaluron pen fillers can appear natural. The hyaluron pen technique allows for precise control over the amount and placement of the filler, which can help achieve subtle and harmonious enhancements. By carefully considering your facial anatomy, individual features, and desired outcome, a skilled practitioner can strive to create natural-looking results.

The goal of hyaluronic acid fillers is to enhance your natural beauty and restore volume or contouring in a way that appears balanced and proportional. The fillers can be used to address specific concerns, such as adding volume to the lips or reducing the appearance of wrinkles, while still maintaining a natural appearance.

  • Are touch-up treatments required?

Touch-up treatments may be required for hyaluron pen fillers to maintain the desired results over time. The longevity of hyaluronic acid fillers can vary among individuals, as it depends on factors such as the specific product used, the area treated, and individual metabolism.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body over time. As a result, the initial volume or contouring achieved with the filler will gradually diminish. To sustain the desired outcome, touch-up treatments or subsequent sessions may be necessary.

The frequency of touch-up treatments can vary, but they are typically recommended every 6 to 12 months. Your practitioner will assess the longevity of the initial treatment and advise you on the appropriate timing for touch-ups based on your individual response to the filler.

It's important to follow the recommendations of your practitioner and maintain regular communication with them. They can assess the current state of your results and provide guidance on when it may be appropriate to schedule a touch-up treatment. By staying proactive and attending these touch-up sessions, you can help maintain the desired aesthetic outcomes achieved with the hyaluron pen fillers.
